The first of EA’s new UFC series hit over a year and a half ago, and now the sequel is finally on the way. Rather than release the series on a “this has to come out every year” basis, EA Sports decided to hold onto UFC 2 until they were ready to release something with substantial changes and improvements.
A new gameplay trailer released Tuesday shows the first step in those, with major changes to the physics of the game, both when fighters are on their feet, and when they’re on the ground in tight grapples.

The “Knockout Physics System” was created in conjunction with real UFC fighters, designed to deliver the most authentic and visceral KOs ever seen in a game. Grappling is no longer a turn-based scenario, either, greatly increasing the speed and realism of fights.
UFC 2 is available March 15, 2016 for PS4 and Xbox One. Pre-orders are available now, with additional fighters as early exclusives.
