EXCLUSIVE: Marvel Heroes 2015 Adds 1602 Costumes for Rogue, Doctor Strange

While Marvel Heroes 2016, the next major update for Marvel Heroes is still on the way, planning to hit soon, that doesn’t mean their weekly updates are slowing down. This week, on Thursday or Friday, an update will come and bring with it a pair of new costumes.

The costumes come from the alternate world of 1602 (yes, that also happens to be a numerical anagram of 2016 – coincidence? or something sinister?!?!?! It’s a coincidence). In that world, Marvel’s heroes developed much the same as they did in the standard Marvel Universe, except it all happened about four hundred years earlier, with all the unique societal circumstances that apply.

That means things aren’t so good for mutants, who are known as “witchbreed” in this universe. That may give you some idea of why Rogue’s 1602 costume includes chains and manacles on her wrists.

Stephen Strange, meanwhile, is still the sorcerer he is in our timeline, though his powers must be kept much more secret. He winds up leading the charge to put the universe right, discovering that the world of 1602 was never meant to be.
