A Doctor Who super-fan has released a trailer for the forthcoming Doctor Who Fiftieth Anniversary Special, starring–well, a lot of folks. Have a look below.Oh, but first get out your 3-D glasses. Because that’s how they roll these days.In fact, that’s not entirely true–you can adjust the trailer to play in a variety of different 3-D options, including the “intentionally blur your vision” variety, or you can watch it without the 3-D at all, which is what I’ve done since I’m an old person.”Whatever you do,” the Eleventh Doctor is told in the closing moments, “Don’t open it.” But the uploader goes ahead and does that since it’s not an official trailer so he can do what he likes. They’ve also got (embedded below the trailer) a featurette that’s a breakdown of the 16 VFX shots John Smith made for the final trailer. According to the YouTube description, “This represents about 3 months of sporadic compositing work and around 55 hours of rendering. To achieve the full stereoscopic 3D, each shot had to be rendered twice (a left and right eye) at slightly offset angles.”
