Furious 7 Crosses $200 Million At Box Office

Universal has a monster-hit on their hands with Furious 7. Last week, the film raked in a ton of money. If you thought that money train was going to slow down in its second weekend, you were wrong.

Furious 7 pulled in $19.2M on Friday, which pushed its domestic total over the $200M mark. That’s the fastest any film from Universal Pictures has crossed that mark. It did it in 8 days. The previous best was set by Despicable Me 2, which did it in 11 days.

Furious 7 is now on pace to win the weekend with $62.7M. It’ll finish the weekend with a total of $254.69M. To put that total in perspective think about this: Furious 6 had the domestic record for any film in the series and it wrapped its stateside run with a total of $238.7M. It took 2 weeks for Furious 7 to top that mark. That’s amazing!
