Grant Morrison and artist Jeevan J. Kang approaching their superhero comic from Graphic India in a way new to the superstar writer: making it digital-first. The story features “the epic world of living myth colliding with the mundane realities and cultural upheavals of contemporary India,” according to a press release.

“At a time when I feel I’ve said about as much as I have to say about the American superhero, this is an opportunity to re-imagine the entire concept through a different cultural lens,” said Morrison in the release. “Avatarex is the first digital only comic I’ve written and I’m excited by the opportunity to create for a more accessible global platform.”

The partnership with Humble Bundle means readers will get much more than just the first chapter of this book – they’ll also get a complete collection of Grant Morrison, Stan Lee, and Deepak Chopra’s work for the publisher, as well as other books from Graphic India. Purchasing the bundle also provides a donation to Doctors Without Borders and Worldreader, as all Humble Bundles are paired with charities.

“I believe that educated young children are our world’s best hope for the future and I’m very proud to be working with Graphic India and Humble Bundle to support Doctors Without Borders and Worldreader to assist those in greatest need and perhaps help inspire the doctors, artists, and leaders of tomorrow,” Morrison added.
