Iron Man 3 Pepper Potts

While many fans had speculated that Gwyneth Paltrow, Jon Favreau and other recurring players from the Iron Man films may have run out of installments on their long-term contracts now that Robert Downey, Jr. has, Paltrow confirmed as much while doing the junket for Iron Man 3.She said that while she was technically only signed for three films, she ended up doing Marvel’s The Avengers–which took her very little time to film–at a very late stage, after Robert Downey, Jr. famously plead the case for her character, Pepper Potts, to be included in the film.Asked whether she thought Downey would return for future installments, Paltrow told Empire Magazine, “My deal is over as well. When they signed us, they signed us for three. So that’s it for the moment, but you never know.”Still, even though she’s previously insinuated that she might be getting a little old to be dressing up in suits of armor and being splashed against a green screen, she seemed to indicate in the interview that whether she would return would probably be a matter of whether Downey did–and what the script looked like.”I don’t think they’re going to make a Pepper Potts movie, so it depends on Iron Man and Robert. I’d be open to more Pepper because I love working with Robert and it’s a great franchise. Most of the time I’m a full-time mother so it’s nice for me to once in a while go and work on a big hit movie with great actors and then go back to North London and resume playdates and stuff like that! I’m always happy when there’s an opportunity to do it.”
