Kelly Sue DeConnick has established herself throughout the world of comics, making her mark on established franchises such as The Avengers and Captain Marvel, as well as creating fan-favorite independent comics such as Bitch Planet and Pretty Deadly.

NBC has greenlit a television series of Redliners, which is based on a series of short stories written by True Blood author Charlaine Harris. DeConnick will executive produce and write the pilot episode, along with Emerald City and Cold Case executive producer Shaun Cassidy.
Redliners is described as a conspiracy theory drama that will mix “humor, romance, and espionage.” The series will follow a pair of former spies, who are reactivated and thrown into a larger conspiracy while trying to remain undercover.
This is the second year in a row that NBC has ordered a pilot based on Harris’ work, with Midnight, Texas already in their arsenal.
DeConnick is part of the production studio Milkfed Criminal Masterminds, which she co-founded with her husband, fellow comic writer Matt Fraction. The company has a two-year deal with Universal, and is currently working on adapting comics The Wicked + The Divine and the Fraction-penned Sex Criminals to series.
