Bryan Cogman will write Hasbro and Fox’s upcoming film based on the popular collectible card game Magic the Gathering, according to Deadline. Cogman is a writer, editor and producer on Game of Thrones.
Fox and Hasbro are hoping to turn Magic the Gathering into a fantasy film franchise. Whether or not Game of Thrones and Peter Jackson’s return to Middle-earth in The Hobbit trilogy have created enough interest and demand for such a franchise remains to be seen.

Cogman is the second Game of Thrones alum to cross over into the world of Hollywood. The first was Alan Taylor, who directed Thor: The Dark World and is set to helm the new Terminator trilogy.
