Williams was a recurring guest star on Doctor Who series 9, playing the immortal Ashildr (a.k.a. Me). Her story wrapped up nicely in the Series finale, flying off through time in space with Clara Oswald in their very own TARDIS, but the news of Series 10 being showrunner Steven Moffat’s last has led to all kinds of speculation.
“Everyone’s hyping about it, which is very exciting, but I guess that’s more of a publicity thing,” Williams tells Vulture. “But no, I’m not going to return, I have a lot of other really exciting projects lined up instead.”
Williams made her feature film debut in 2015’s The Falling, and was awarded the Evening Standard British Film Awards’ Rising Star Award and the London Film Critics’ Circle Young British/Irish Performer of the Year Award for her performance. In 2016, she’ll appear in The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, and she’s in negotiations to star in the film adaptation of The Forest of Hands and Teeth.
Williams remains best known for her role as Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, which returns for Season 6 on HBO on April 24.
