Thanks to both Secret Wars and Star Wars, Marvel Comics dominated July 2015’s sales charts. As Diamond Comics Distributors revealed today, Marvel led last month’s comic sales with a 38.43% dollar share, and a 41.59% unit share. Coming in a distant second was DC Comics, who nabbed 23.94% of the market’s dollar share, and 24.30% of its unit share.

Looking at the month’s top 10 selling comics, its easy to see how Marvel led the month. With Secret Wars #4 as the month’s top-selling comic, Marvel took eight of the top 10 slots, with five titles falling under the Secret Wars umbrella and another three falling under Star Wars’ purview. The only DC comic book to crack that top 10 was Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Batman #42, which came in at number five. But the Big Two shared the spotlight with a new faceโ€”Archie Andrewsโ€”as Mark Waid and Fiona Staples’ Archie #1 reboot landed as July seventh best-selling comic.

Unfortunately, the industry saw a slight dip when compared to July 2014. The industry’s overall dollar share dipped 4.6% and its unit share fell 8.2%. But the year-to-date average still has 2015 outpacing 2014 by 12% in both dollar and share units. So, keep buying those comics, kids!
