It’s about to get much louder in Springfield.
That’s because the latest Simpsons-inspired band, The Okilly Dokillys, are shredding to the tune of Ned Flanders. And if you think the Simpsons’ church-going saint seems like an unusual muse for hard rock band, you wouldn’t be wrong. As the group’s members explained, they thought the unusual mix would raise a laugh or two.

“Myself and our drummer were in line at a grocery store, entertaining ourselves by coming up with really cutesy names for really hardcore, brutal bands,” lead singer Head Ned told Rip It Up. “The name Okilly Dokilly came up and was very funny to us – we ran with it. I contacted a few friends, and here we are.”
About those titlesโeach band member’s stage name is a riff on Ned Flanders, including Head Ned, “Bled Ned, Red Ned, Thread Ned and Stead Ned. The group brings their routine full-circle by even dressing like Ned, complete with a green sweater and pink polo. But how do the Neds sound against the several other Simpsons-inspired groups?
“Not as fast as Bartcore, and a little cleaner than Krusty Punk,” Head Ned explained. “Not as heavy as Homer J.ent- Nedal is a happy medium in the Simpscene.”
