Looks like Back To The Future 2 was right after all.

Nike is finally unveiling their Hyper Adapt 1.0 shoe with self-lacing technology, and while this edition isn’t themed after the film, most likely there will be one coming down the road that is.

The Hyper Adapt 1.0 has a sensor that responds to your foot once it settles inside the shoe, and then automatically adjusts and tightens the laces. For adjustments, you can tap a small button on the side that will either contract them or expand them for ultimate comfort.

You’ll only be able to get one of these via auction, though, but on the plus side all the proceeds are going to a great cause in Michael J. Fox’s foundation for Parkinson’s Research. It makes sense, since Nike’s Tinker Hatfield actually hand delivered a prototype of the shoe to Fox last year, letting him know a full release was in the works.

You can see a glimpse of what the final shoe will look like in the trailer (above).
