, a new concert performance “documentary” out this week, is expected to top the box office and be the first new movie in 3 weeks to open bigger than $20 million, as the big summer movie season winds down.Other than the addition of One Direction and a substantial tumble projected for last week’s top new release The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, the box office will remain largely unchanged from last week, according to numbers from Box Office Mojo‘s prognosticators.Where last week opened with a top five of The Butler, We’re the Millers, The Mortal Instruments, Planes and The World’s End, with only the top three generating more than $10 million but nothing in the top five making less than $8 million, this week experts are calling for One Direction to generate $20 million, followed by The Butler and We’re the Millers making $15 million and $13 million, respectively, both single-digit changes from what they made last week.  They’re expecting both We’re the Millers and Planes to actually make more money this week than they did last, and The World’s End to drop 19%, an impressive performance for a film in its second week. There are a few reasons why the box office might look like that, with a holiday weekend and last week’s fairly modest performances, coupled with a lack of hot new releases, contributing.Morgan Spurlock, director of Super-Size Me and Comic-Con: A Fan’s Hope, followed One Direction around and shot the performance film for them; it will be the first time any of his films have hit #1 at the box office. In fact, the $20.6 million Box Office Mojo is projecting for the 1D opening should equal the entire global box office take of Super-Size Me, which is currently Spurlock’s biggest moneymaker by far.
