While millions are rediscovering their love of Pokemon thanks to Pokemon Go, the popular video game franchise never really went away. In addition to a steady stream of new video games (Pokemon Sun and Moon come out in November), the Pokemon Trading Card Game is still going strong, with a new expansion coming out every few months.
One of the more recent expansions is “Generations”, a special collection focusing on “First Generation” Pokemon like Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur. While collectors can usually buy Pokemon cards in individual packages, the Generations packages can only be purchased in special box sets featuring rare holofoil cards of Mythical Pokemon and limited edition pins.

If you want to jumpstart your Pokemon card collection, you can also purchase an Elite Trainers Box, a special box containing 10 packs of cards, damage counters, energy cards, and special card sleeves featuring the 20th Anniversary logo. The box contains just about everything you need to make a competitive deck and start playing right away.
The Pokemon Company recently sent ComicBook.com an Elite Trainers Box, and we opened it up to see what was inside in the video above. In addition to a opening up a bunch of cool Pokemon cards (including a Holofoil Venusaur…just like what I wanted as a kid), the box also contained a special Shaymin EX card that’s only available in this set.
