Gotham Season 3: Clips & Trailers

The wait is almost over! Gotham returns for a third season Today! To get you in the mood, Fox has released a trio of sneak peeks from the premiere and a brand new “It’s A Mad, Mad City” trailer.

In the “Bruce Wayne Confronts Wayne Interprises Board of Directors” clip, Bruce tells the board members that he believes a secret society took control of his company. When one of them laughs off the accusations as nothing more than a conspiracy theory, Alfred Pennyworth steps in and lays down the law.

In the “New to Gotham” clip, Gotham Gazette reporter Valerie Vale meets Jim Gordon — who is now a bounty hunter — for the first time and grills him about the Indian Hill escapees. He’s not interested in chatting with her, but by the end of their conversation, his ears perk up when she mentions that Penguin is offering $1 million reward to whoever brings Fishy Mooney in.

In “Fish Mooney is Back” clip, while Detective Nathaniel Barnes and Mayor Aubrey James are trying to assure the press and the citizens of Gotham that they have the Indian Hill escapee situation firmly in hand, Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin interrupts the press conference and gives a stirring speech.

Gordon works in a monster-ridden Gotham as a bounty hunter and seeks to find answers about the Indian Hill escapees, and why their powers appear to be killing them. Meanwhile, Bruce’s doppelganger roams the streets, and Barbara and Tabitha open a new nightclub called The Sirens.

Bruce Wayne Is Protecting The Family Name In New Gotham Season 3 Promo

“The Wayne name still has meaning,” Bruce Wayne (portrayed by David Mazouz) says in the S3 promo. “It’s a symbol of light. And hope. And I’m going to fight for it. I have a plan for justice. And to take back what’s mine.”

The S3 promo features a determined Bruce Wayne training and preparing to bring back justice, and the Wayne name to Gotham. We also see a brief scene of Bruce coming face to face with the mysterious Court of Owls.

As the city sinks deeper into chaos, Gotham will continue to follow the evolving stories of the city’s most malevolent villains: The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor); Edward Nygma/the future Riddler (Cory Michael Smith); Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman (Camren Bicondova); Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), Tabitha Galavan/Tigress (Jessica Lucas) and Butch Gilzean (Drew Powell). The series also will catch up with the future Poison Ivy (Maggie Geha), who, after an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, finds herself reborn as a young woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms; and will dive into the origin stories of Jervis Tetch/Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel), a talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness; and the Tweed Brothers.

Gotham Executive Producer On If Bruce Becomes Batman In Season 3

Gotham continues to build up Batman’s rogues gallery, but as the seasons continue to pile up, fans are excited about the prospect of Bruce finally claiming his cape and cowl.

It will still be a little while though before that happens, but as executive producer Ken Woodruff acknowledged, the much-anticipated point is getting closer, laying the foundation for what he will eventually become. (via EW).

“Our actor [is] turning 16, so he’s getting close,” executive producer Ken Woodruff says. “We’re not quite getting to the point of Batman, but we’re really focusing on trying to get to see different sides of Bruce Wayne and to lay the foundation for all those Batman things. He’s going to be much more active. Near the end of last season, he spent time on the streets with Selina Kyle. We didn’t show a lot of that, but this year we’re going to show what the gains from that experience were — learning how to pick locks, break into things, be silent like a bat. We definitely wanted to show that progression for Bruce.”

Season three will peel back the curtain on the infamous criminal organization known as the Court of The Owls. With the Indian Hill escapees on the loose, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) must take matters into his own hands as a bounty hunter in Gotham. He makes it his mission to find Hugo Strange (guest star BD Wong), the mastermind behind the horrifying Indian Hill experiments, and Fish Mooney (guest star Jada Pinkett Smith), one of Strange’s subjects. Meanwhile, GCPD Detective Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) and Captain Nathaniel Barnes (Michael Chiklis) remain at the forefront of the fight against crime in the monster-ridden city. Also, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz), with the help of his trusted butler and mentor, Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee), and former Wayne Enterprises employee, Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk), discovers there are still more secrets to uncover regarding his parents’ murders.

Cameron Monaghan Teases Gotham Return With Joker Laugh

Even though he was apparently killed by Theo Galavan in Season 2 of Gotham, Jerome, the leading candidate to eventually become The Joker, is coming back to the FOX television series. And today, Cameron Monaghan, the 23-year-old actor that portrays the murderous character, posted a new video on Instagram teasing his return.

“Hello, Gotham,” Monaghan says in the video (only contains audio), before busting out a lengthy laugh that sounds like a mix of the laughs Heath Ledger (2008’s The Dark Knight), Mark Hamill (DC animated universe), and Jack Nicholson (1989’s Batman) used when they portrayed The Clown Prince of Crime.

Last month, Jerome’s return was confirmed by executive producer John Stephens. Though he didn’t say how Jermome will be resurrected, Stephens did say his return will be built up throughout the upcomin season and big reveal is being saved for Season 4.

“You’ll have these underground movements that have started to talk about Jerome and what he represented and how he’s going to come back like in the days of John the Baptist,” Stephens told Zap2it. “Setting the stage that if there is a Season 4, hopefully we’ll bring that back in a much bigger way and you’ll see these different versions of the Joker myth.”

Gotham: Burn The Witch Photos

Gotham Poison Ivy
(Photo: FOX)

The characters of Gotham have undergone some significant changes, maybe none more so than Jim Gordon and Poison Ivy, both of which will figure prominently into the season 3 premiere.

FOX has released a series of new photos from the second episode, which is titled Burn The Witch. In the new stills a plethora of returning characters can be seen, including Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Poison Ivy (Maggie Geha), Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz), Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin), Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) and Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), but also features a first look at guest star Jamie Chung, who is playing Valerie Vale.

Jim Gordon now finds himself hunting down the monsters of Indian Hill all by his lonesome to pay the bills as a bounty hunter. While that change is pretty drastic in itself, it’s nothing compared to the one Poison Ivy has undergone, something that will be addressed throughout the season.

The origin story continues on Season Three of Gotham, and the stakes are higher than ever, as Super-Villains more ambitious and depraved are introduced, and a realignment of alliances shakes up the fight for power in Gotham City.
