For the Make-A-Wish Foundation, giving children with life-threatening illnesses and conditions is a daily labor of love, and the reward comes in seeing the delight and joy that the child experiences as a result of their efforts.  For actor Ron Perlman, he got to taste some of that good feeling recently himself.  Donning full Hellboy makeup, the actor granted a six-year old name Zachary a request to “meet and become Hellboy” for a day.  Spectral Motion, the make-up and effects company that worked on both Hellboy and Hellboy 2, helped make it happen for the young boy.  Perlman showed up and underwent the process of becoming Hellboy for Zachary, and then showed up and surprised the child and his family.  Perlman treated the makeup artists and Zachary’s family to lunch as well, and spent time with the boy while in costume.  Zachary later had the chance to undergo the makeup process to become Hellboy for a day, receiving the same makeup work and effects that Perlman had.  The two posed for pictures together, which Spectral Motion shared on their Facebook page, and Zachary and his family were delighted with the day. This is the second time in three weeks Spectral Motion has been part of a Make-A-Wish request, with another child recently getting a look at the animatronics and effects used in films such as X-Men: The Last Stand and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.  Perlman “loved the idea” for the day and was happy to grant they young boy’s request.Photo courtesy of Spectral Motion
