During that conversation, of course, we had to ask DMC if working with Marvel on the comics side has made him more eager to work with Marvel Studios, in the way famous names like Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello had done on Iron Man.

Here’s what McDaniels had to say about it:

You’re working with Marvel now — Are there any of these movies that you would like to take a swing at, like either scoring or contributing a song to now that there is a billion of them out?

DMC: Oh, hell yeah! Oh my goodness, hell yeah. I should be given a track to the civil war movie that is coming. I got some new music … My first single is dropping in about two month. It is produced by John Moyer, from the rock band Disturbed. He produced me and Miles Kennedy. We got this record called Flames, which is about all the shootings that is going on in the neighborhood.

It is about the white cops shooting the black kids, but it is even deeper about the black kids shooting the black kids and nobody marching or protesting that, so this new record that I got, I guarantee you this, I got six or seven great ass, hard ass rocking hip-hop tracks that should be on there.

I got Travis Barker, I got Mick Marshall, Motley Crue, I got Sebastian Bach from Skidrow, I got Justin Furstenfeld from Blue October. In about a week I am going in with Joan Jett, so to answer your question…

Listen, Hollywood needs to call me because I got the soundtracks that make soundtracks awesome.
