The Russo brothers will direct the series’ third episode, while Johnston will follow with episode four. Agent Peggy Carter, played by Hayley Atwell, played a major role in Johnston’s first Captain America film, as Steve Rogers’ ass-kicking love interest. She played a smaller role in the Russo brothers’ sequel.

Marvel’s head of television Jeph Loeb also revealed that the series will take place in 1946, but will have significant ramifications for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the present day.

Agent Carter is set for a midseason premiere on ABC.
