There may be over 2,500 potential new Han Solos, but there will only ever be one Indiana Jones. At least that’s how Steven Spielberg feels about it.

“I don’t think anyone could replace Harrison [Ford] as Indy, I don’t think that’s ever going to happen,” told Screen International.
While there have been rumors of Ford, now in his 70s, being replaced in the role by a younger actor (Chris Pratt’s name was tossed around for a while), Spielberg says that has simply never been a consideration.
“It’s certainly not my intention to ever have another actor step into his shoes in the way there have been many actors that have played Spider-Man or Batman. There is only going to be one actor playing Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford.”
That doesn’t mean there won’t be more Indiana Jones adventures. Despite the poor reception Indy’s latest outing, The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, got from fans, Spielberg, Ford, and Disney have all expressed an interest in creating a fifth Indiana Jones film.
“Because there are more adventures out there than films,” said Spielberg. “So as long as there’s more adventures out there, I’ve got a bullwhip, a fedora, a leather jacket and a man on a horse who knows how to get the job done.”
