Supergirl: First Look at Young Superman

At least a Superman has been cast on CBS’s Supergirl, or at least a young version of Kal-el, the Kryptonian child who’ll grow up to be Superman.

Daniel Dimaggio will play a young Kal-El in the episode, “For the Girl Who Has Everything,” which sees a parasitic alien attached to Kara, trapping her in a dream world. In this perfect reality, she is at home on Krypton with her family – including her young cousin.

The episode airs Monday, February 8 on CBS at 8pm. It’s based on a classic story that featured Superman in the role that Supergirl plays here. That story, “For the Man Who Has Everything” was written by Alan Moore and drawn by Dave Gibbons in Superman Annual #11. It’s been adapted to TV once before, in the animated series Justice League Unlimited in 2004.
