The Iron Giant is coming back to theaters with a new edition for a special limited engagement, Warner Bros. announced ahead of San Diego Comic-Con today. The movie from director Brad Bird was originally released in 1999, and will feature a new special “Signature Edition” cut with added scenes and a “remastered and enhanced” look.

Fans can see The Iron Giant: Signature Edition in theaters via Fathom Events on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 7pm local time, and Sunday October 4, 2015 at 12pm local time. Tickets and theaters will be announced in August. Bird also tweeted out a new poster for the special edition.

After the film’s special theatrical showings, the new high-definition special cut will be available for purchase, but as of right now, Warner Bros says it will only be available as a digital release. No exact release date has been announced, simply saying “fall of 2015” and “following the re-release of the film in theaters” in a press release.

The Iron Giant starred Eli Marlenthal as a young boy named Hogarth who befriends a massive robot voiced by Vin Diesel. The film was Bird’s directorial debut, before he moved on to films like The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, and Tomorrowland.
