The Rock hasn’t stopped there, as his industry takeover has started to include the television realm as well. Johnson debuted his first TV show on HBO two years ago, and it’s been a shining success.
Ballers follows the story of current, and former, professional football players in Miami, who struggle with their lives after the game has ended. Johnson stars as Spencer Strasmore, a former player who now serves as a financial manager for current players. As if starring wasn’t enough, The Rock produces the show as well.
Fans have been waiting on some word about the show’s third season, and HBO has finally revealed when audiences can expect the new episodes. It was announced today, that the premium cable network will debut Ballers Season 3 on July 23, 2017.
Along with sophomore comedy Insecure, Ballers will debut its new season on the same day as the second episode of Game Of Thrones‘ seventh season. The two comedies will air before the new Game of Thrones episodes, beginning at 8pm ET.
The third season of Ballers will be 10 episodes in length, continuing to air after the seven-episode Game Of Thrones season is completed.
While most of Ballers takes place in Miami, fans can expect a big change this year. Johnson revealed that part of the season was filmed, on location, in San Fransisco, teasing some big changes for the characters.
One week before Ballers debuts, Game of Thrones will begin its journey to the end. Winter has finally arrived in Westeros, and there’s no telling who will make it out alive.
