“Man, it’s been way too long.” Seriously, Goku could not have said it better. Last summer, Toei Animation debuted its most recent installment of the Dragon Ball franchise when Dragon Ball Super debuted. The shonen series is a direct sequel to the lauded Dragon Ball Z anime, and Adult Swim’s Toonami will soon bring the series stateside. Now, the program has released a teaser for the all-star series, and it has got fans feeling hyped.

The short clip shows a slew of familiar characters like Goten, Goku, Beerus, Mr. Satan, Mr. Buu, Piccolo, Vegeta, Trunks, and King Kai.

“Get ready for Dragon Ball Super,” the teaser warns fans. The explosive anime will premiere statues on January 7, 2017 at 11:30 p.m.

When Dragon Ball Super makes it way to cable television, the anime will do so with an English dub. Funimation recruited many familiar actors who provided voices for Dragon Ball Z. The talent has gone back and recorded audio for all the episodes so far. Dragon Ball Super will air on Toonami from the first episode, and Funimation will continue to dub future episodes as the anime releases in Japan.

It may take awhile for Toonami to catch up with Dragon Ball Super‘s 70+ episodes, but it will be worth the wait. In February, a brand-new story arc will kick off with the ‘Universal Survival’ saga. You can check out the brief synopsis for it below:

“At Goku’s request, the Omni-Kings’ “Tournament of Power” martial arts tournament between universes now begins! โ€ฆBut this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquishedโ€ฆ?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn outโ€ฆ?!”

Shortly after the new arc was announced, the Dragon Ball Super website shared a short message from producer Shunki Hashizume. “Dragon Ball Super enters its new chapter, the “Universe Survival Arc”. As you can see from the main visual, it’ll be a full-throttle story where Goku and the rest of the Universe 7 warriors form a team to take on a tournament between universes!” he wrote.

“Artificial Human No. 17 and Majin Boo are there too, so personally I can’t contain my excitement at the thought of what kind of fights we’ll see! Look forward to this new chapter that’ll be sure to feature super-intense battles with nonstop appearances by the elites of each universe!”
