In between installments of his lucrative car franchise Fast & Furious, actor Vin Diesel is resurrecting the xXx franchise.

It’s one he helped launch back in 2002, but Diesel did not return in the sequel. Instead, he was replaced with Ice Cube, who did an admirable job in his stead, but the franchise has been dormant ever since.

Now Diesel is returning to the role with xXx: Return of Xander Cage, which is being directed by D.J. Caruso. Caruso shared a small teaser from the film, which mainly consists of a rotating logo, but it does have some narration from Samuel L. Jackson, who is returning as Cage’s handler Augustus Gibbons. The tweet is captioned “We save the world in ways no one even imagines it needs saving.”

The film starts out with Cage left for dead, or at least that is what the general public believes. Diesel will be joined by the aforementioned Jackson, as well as Nina Dobrev, Ruby Rose, Rory McCann, Toni Collette, and Donnie Yen, and is slated to hit theaters on January 20th, 2017.

The original xXx was made for $70 million and earned back over $277 million worldwide. It’s sequel, xXx: State of the Union, didn’t fare so well, and only pulled in a bit over $71 million back in 2005.
