Valeriano Fatica is an artist that has made a name for himself based on the beautiful sculptures he has created from fruits and vegetables, like pumpkins, watermelons and potatoes.

His latest YouTube video, shows how he took an ordinary watermelon and transformed it into a fire-breathing dragon. He begins the 4-minute video by carving out the mythical beast’s eye as a starting point. Then he moves on to the laborious task of whittling out the dragon’s scaly skin with several long, sharp blades.
What’s so neat about using a Watermelon is that the deeper you cut the more of its reddish insides are exposed, adding another dimension to the piece. Clearly, Fatica has perfected that technique.
