“The end of the season funds us with the stakes taken all the way up,” showrunner Jonathan Nolan says in the video. “The first season was defined by control; the second season is defined by chaos. I think that’s part of what we come to understand Ford has been planning all along.” He adds,”Ford has set in motion what he thinks is a plan. The nature of that plan is something we explore in the second season โ€” what his intentions are. Are they to let Dolores and the other hosts escape? Are they simply to teach the human guests a lesson?”

“I think that Dr. Ford throughtout the series is a bit of a sphinx,” showrunner Lisa Joy explains. “You get the feeling that his is a lonely and complicated life and that his agendas are also complicated.” She adds, “All individuals tend to be egocentric โ€” is I guess the unflattering word for it. But I think it is a really natural impulse to look at the world through your own perspective and see everything and weigh all actions in a way against how they affect you.”

Ford (Anthony Hopkins) unveils his bold new narrative; Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) embraces her identity; Maeve (Thandie Newton) sets her plan in motion.

Created for television by Jonathan Nolan (Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Person of Interest) and Lisa Joy (Pushing Daisies, Burn Notice), both of whom are executive producing and writing, with Nolan also directing, the series was inspired by the 1973 motion picture Westworld, written and directed by Michael Crichton.

The cast features Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Robert Ford, Ed Harris as The Man in Black, Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores Abernathy, James Marsden as Teddy Flood, Thandie Newton as Maeve Millay, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte Hale, Sidse Babett Knudsen as Theresa Cullen, Jimmi Simpson as William, Rodrigo Santoro as Hector Escaton, Shannon Woodward as Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsรธ Berdal as Armistice, Ben Barnes as Logan, Angela Sarafyan as Clementine Pennyfeather, Luke Hemsworth as Stubbs, and Clifton Collins, Jr. as Lawrence.
