X-Men: Days Of Future Past is currently the third highest grossing film of 2014 so far at the worldwide box office and just became the fourth highest grossing film of 2014 so far at the U.S. box office this weekend.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past only trails Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at the worldwide box office. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is in first place with $709.9 million at the worldwide box office, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is in second place with $697.9 million at the worldwide box office. Because both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 are later in their runs, there is chance that X-Men: Days of Future Past could eventually pass both films at the worldwide box office.

All three of the movies that have passed $600 million at the worldwide box office are based on characters from Marvel Comics, even though each film was released by a different studio.
