Sean Gordon Murphy is doing a “top secret” Batman project at DC — but he’s been posting process pieces, sketches, layouts, and more on his Twitter account for most of the month.

So, yeah. A bit less secret now.
The project will apparently be released as a miniseries — an answer Murphy gave to someone asking whether it would drop as “singles or an original graphic novel” — and presumably sometime in late 2017 or 2018.
Murphy was one of a number of names mentioned when Scott Snyder was first looking for high profile names to team with him on Batman stories, although this project appears to be just Murphy’s own.
The still-untitled project was announced last August as an Elseworlds-style Batman series in the vein of The Dark Knight Returns, and Murphy signed onto a two-year exclusive contract with DC to work on it.
“Batman is my proving ground – if you can make your mark on Batman with your singular vision, then you’re in rarefied air,” Murphy told Newsarama at the time.
You can check out a number of his tweets, featuring art and commentary on the miniseries, below.
