7 DC Villains That Hulk Would Smash

The Hulk is one of the most devastatingly powerful heroes in the Marvel Universe. Bruce Banner created the gamma bomb and on the day it was being tested, he noticed teen Rick Jones on the bombing range. Bruce saved Rick, but was caught in the bomb blast. The One Below All opened the Green Door, and Bruce Banner became the Hulk. Since then, the Hulk has been running through basically everyone in front of him, including superheroes, supervillains, gods, monsters, and everything in between. The Hulk is the strongest one there is, his vast super strength, invulnerability, and healing factor allowing him to win against just about anyone. The Hulk can lose, but making him taste defeat has proven to be almost impossible for nearly everyone who has ever battled him.

Marvel and DC Comics are crossing over again, something that Hulk has a lot of experience with. The Hulk battled Batman back in that long ago crossover, but he hasn’t been announced for any crossovers yet. Opening up the DC Multiverse to the Hulk gives him a whole bunch of new enemies to battle and it could be great, though not necessarily for the villains of DC. While there are some DC villains who would be able to defeat him, these seven DC villains would get smashed by the Hulk.

7) Deathstroke

Deathstroke is one of the most formidable villains in comics. Slade Wilson was an amazing soldier, and was chosen to be a part of a super soldier program. Deathstroke gained super strength, speed, and an enhanced brain from the experiments. Deathstroke wins because he’s smarter than most of his opponents. Much like Batman, Deathstroke comes up with plans that can take down the most powerful heroes and he change those plans on the fly with the best of them. Deathstroke is hard to keep down, but the Hulk is more than powerful enough to defeat Deathstroke. Now, I think that given enough time and planning, that Deathstroke could figure out a way to win, but in a straight up fight, the Hulk takes Deathstroke. Even wearing the Ikon suit, which allowed Deathstroke to fight Superman hand to hand, the villain would still lose. Deathstroke punches way above his weight class, but the Hulk is on another level. Deathstroke is great, but the Hulk is way too powerful.

6) Vandal Savage

The Justice League has faced some formidable villains, with Vandal Savage being one of the most deadly. Vandal Savage started life as a Neanderthal who, on a hunting trip found a meteorite. The radiation from this meteorite gave him superhuman strength, speed, durability, a healing factor, and immortality. It also made Savage super intelligent, and prompted him to begin his reign of terror. Vandal Savage has spent millennia traveling the world doing whatever he’s wanted. The villain has defeated more heroes over the years than he even can remember, and has built up the kind of power and wealth that can only be amassed in a life that has existed longer than what we know as civilization. Vandal’s intellect has allowed him to go toe to toe with the most powerful heroes, but that’s not going to help against the Hulk. Savage is smart, but it’s more about tactics than technology. Unlike Deathstroke, who could probably figure out a way to beat the Hulk eventually, Savage isn’t that kind of fighter. His ego would cause him to probably go after Hulk in a physical fight, thinking that his brain could get him through the battle, but Savage would get smashed by the Hulk rather easily.

5) Bane

Bane is one of Batman’s greatest villains, and has proven that by handing the Dark Knight some of his most devastating defeats. Bane is another villain who is known for his brainpower, using his tactical wherewithal to defeat his opponents. He’s also one of the most dangerous fighters out there, having been forced to fight for his life from a young age in the most deadly prison on Earth. Bane also uses Venom, a super steroid that gives him superhuman strength. Bane versus Hulk is a total mismatch. Bane is very smart when it comes to battle, but nothing that Bane could bring to bear would let him beat the Hulk. Now, given a chance, Bane could do something similar to what he did to Batman in Batman (Vol. 3) #1-85, where he was able to mobilize every villain in Gotham City and beyond to outsmart and defeat Batman, but even then, the Hulk’s basically infinite power puts him on a level that few people can match. Even with Venom, Bane doesn’t have a chance of matching the Hulk even at his base level. The Hulk wouldn’t even have a chance to get angry in this fight, as he could one-shot Bane.

4) Metallo

Metallo is a Superman-level villain, having battled the Man of Steel for ages. Metallo’s cyborg body gives him extreme super strength and invulnerability, the ability to shape his limbs into various weapons, and is powered by Kryptonite. His Kryptonite lasers and radiation have allowed him to weaken Superman, but even then, Superman has taken very few losses from Metallo. Metallo isn’t the sharpest knife in drawer; he’s usually used by others as cannon fodder against Superman. He is very strong, but that’s pretty much all he has against the Hulk. While Metallo could still fire Kryptonite energy blasts at the Hulk, the fact that he hasn’t been affected by Kryptonite means that the energy blasts are just going to be like any other energy blasts. Metallo is very strong and durable, and would be able to batter the Hulk with his shape-changing limbs, but he doesn’t have the power to take the Hulk out quickly. This will allow the Hulk to keep getting stronger and stronger, and reach a level where all of Metallo’s strength will be meaningless. Metallo would give the Hulk a minor challenge, but it wouldn’t be enough to win.

3) Kalibak

Kalibak is the son of Darkseid, which makes him one of the powerful beings on Apokolips. Kalibak is known for his titanic strength and invulnerability, which has allowed him to punch it out with Superman. Kalibak is extremely dangerous; while he doesn’t have the eyeblasts of his father, his strength and savagery make him a foe that no one wants to fight. Despite being Darkseid’s son, Kalibak doesn’t hold the highest stature among Darkseid’s elites. There’s a very good reason for this โ€” Kalibak is very, very stupid. Outsmarting Kalibak is like outsmarting a five-year-old โ€” anyone with half a brain can do it. Kalibak versus the Hulk is basically just a slobberknocker; they’re going to pound on each other till one of them falls. Kalibak will honestly get an early advantage because despite being dumber than a box of rocks, he does know how to fight. However, the Hulk’s constantly rising strength and invulnerability is going to keep him going until he can get to a point where he’s stronger than Kalibak. After that, the fight will still keep going for a while, as Kalibak is tougher than a two-dollar steak, but the Hulk will smash Kalibak. In fact, there’s a good chance that the Hulk can actually outsmart Kalibak, which really says it all about this battle.

2) Amazo

Amazo actually does have the power to defeat Hulk, but he would still lose the fight. Amazo is an android that can copy the powers of the heroes he battles, usually the Justice League. That means that he has Superman’s strength, the Flash’s speed, the Green Lantern’s ability to create constructs, and the like. Amazo would probably even be able to copy the Hulk’s ability to get stronger as he gets angrier. However, the thing about Amazo is that he’s not all that intelligent. Amazo constantly loses to the Justice League despite being their equal because his programming is rather rudimentary. Amazo may be able to use the powers, but he doesn’t really have the imagination to do anything great with them. This is going to allow the Hulk to win. In the end, Amazo is just an artificially created being. Every punch that the Hulk hits him with his is going to damage his internal components. Amazo’s power and resiliency is definitely going to anger the Hulk, and that’s going to be the beginning of the end for the android. Once Hulk starts getting angry, Amazo is going to find himself quickly outclassed. This would definitely be an amazing fight, but the Hulk has Amazo beat.

1) Lex Luthor

Courtesy of DC Comics

Lex Luthor is the smartest villain on his Earth, and someone else who I think could actually figure out a way to beat the Hulk given enough time. However, in a one on one fight, Lex Luthor doesn’t have a chance. His anti-Superman armor is definitely enough to keep him in the fight, but the Hulk has torn through enemies in armor before. Plus, instead of wearing a helmet, Lex Luthor keeps his face exposed, which is a bad idea for anyone without invulnerability fighting the Hulk. Honestly, the Hulk could probably end this fight immediately with a hard enough punch to Lex’s face. After this fight, Lex would come up with a way to defeat the Hulk for revenge, but the fact that he’d need to take revenge really says it all about who would win this fight.
