Burt Ward, the original live-action Boy Wonder, was our special guest on the latest installment of Good Knight Gotham, and during the interview, he revealed who he would most like to see play Robin in Ben Affleck’s Batman solo film, expressed a desire to team-up with Adam West once again to play Batman and Robin in a live-action project, and promoted the release of Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.

Also, ComicBook.com’s Chris Killian, the show’s host, asked the 71-year-old actor if he would be interested in making a cameo in FOX’s Batman prequel television series, Gotham.
“Of course!” Ward excitedly exclaimed. “I’m an actor and I love doing everything to do with Batman. I love doing other projects as well. I’ve done forty movies for television. You know, it’s a wonderful thing; Gotham is a great show. And all I can tell you is that I would be happy to do it; I’d be happy to any kind of project. I love to work!”
Personally, I think it was a shame that Ward wasn’t included in the “The Blind Fortune Teller” episode (#16) from the first season. Why that episode? Because in it, Jim Gordon and Dr. Leslie Thompkins went on a date to the circus, where we were introduced to Dick Grayon’s parents: John Grayson and Mary Lloyd. Obviously, Ward couldn’t have played John (or Mary), but they could have had him be a retired member of The Flying Graysons.
It’s back to the 1960s as Batman and Robin spring into action when Gotham City is threatened by a quartet of Batman’s most fiendish foes โ Penguin, The Joker, Riddler and Catwoman. The four Super-Villains have combined their wicked talents to hatch a plot so nefarious that the Dynamic Duo will need to go to outer space (and back) to foil their arch enemies and restore order in Gotham City. It’s a truly fantastic adventure that will pit good against evil, good against good, evil against evil โฆ and feature two words that exponentially raise the stakes for both sides: Replicator Ray. Holy Multiplication Tables!
The film features the vocal performances of Adam West (Batman), Burt Ward (Robin) and Julie Newmar (Catwoman). It also includes Jeff Bergman as the Joker, William Salyers as The Penguin, Wally Wingert as The Riddler, Lynne Marie Stewart as Aunt Harriett, Jim Ward as Commissioner Gordon, and Sirena Irwin as TV show host Miranda Moore.
Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will be available November 1, 2016 on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD. It will be available to own on Digital HD starting October 11, 2016.
