Fans of CW’s The Flash have experienced DC’s television version of Flashpoint, a storyline where Barry Allen goes back in time to prevent his mother’s death. The storyline is a fan favorite for multiple reasons, but one rather significant one is Thomas Wayne’s Batman, and If Jefferey Dean Morgan has his way, he might be suiting up for the role somewhere down the line.

The Walking Dead actor recently spoke to CinemaBlend about his role as Thomas Wayne in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and specifically what he would like to see happen in the future.
“Maybe when he cast me that was kind of the goal. Hopefully, DC can figure this all out, and in a few years I can come back and do a Flashpoint Batman! I would love it. That would be great.”
It’s not just a pipedream either. Morgan played the role of The Comedian in Synder’s Watchmen adaptation, and during filming the director revealed how great a fit Morgan would make for The Dark Knight Returns.
“I have not had any big discussions with him about [Flashpoint], but I remember when we were in Australia doing Watchmen press, and I was having dinner with Zack or whatever. And he was like, ‘My dream is to do the Frank Miller Batman.’ And he goes, ‘You would be an awesome Batman.’ The darker version.”
Maybe someday that will happen, but Snyder did take a lot of that source material for Batman v Superman. Still, it doesn’t rule it out completely, and if they ever decide to do a Flashpoint storyline, Morgan would make a fantastic Thomas Wayne Batman. For now, fans will just have to catch Morgan as Negan on The Walking Dead, which should more than suffice.
The Walking Dead season 7 premieres on AMC October 23 at 9 p.m. ET.
