After the massive success of the IT movie adaptation, it seems that Pennywise the Dancing Clown has once again become a horror movie icon, which means the character is a prime candidate for any number of memes, mashups, and other fan offerings.

Case in point: one fan has gone as far as to create a creepy and atmospheric trailer that mashes up the worlds of IT and Batman into a concept where The Joker takes on Pennywise for the crown of baddest psychotic clown on the block.

The teaser sees Joker, the Arkham video games version, waking up in a creepy warehouse (or basement?) setting, only to find himself in one of those creepy surreal sequences in which Pennywise appears, trying to drum up fear in his victims before he finally kills them.

Of course, the usual Pennywise tactic isn’t going to work on this intended victim; after all, no one is really sure if Joker has any actual fears to manipulate. Batman villain Scarecrow has hit Joker with a full blast of his fear toxin before, only to have Joker laugh it off. That should tell you all you need to know.

While this will never be a full feature, it would be nice to see this concept at least extended into a fun fan-made short which could actually demonstrate the dynamics of a “Joker v Pennywise” showdown.

Meanwhile, you can see the new Pennywise in IT, while The Joker will be making multiple returns to the screen. Jared Leto’s Joker will appear in Suicide Squad 2 and his own Joker & Harley Quinn movie; there’s also a separate Joker origin movie in the works.

If this teaser trailer concept isn’t enough, here’s Joker and Pennywise mashed up together!
