After earning $36.8M in its third weekend, Justice League‘s overseas total rose to $371.8M, with a global total of $569.2M. $98.6M of that amount comes from China alone, where the film has become the high-grossing DC film of all time.
Justice League has surpassed both Wonder Woman and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in China in just three weeks, in spite of the negative critical reaction to the film.
With a successful week from Justice League, Warner Bros. has now passed a significant milestone in the global box office. With less than one month left in the year, the studio has passed the $3B mark.
Warner Bros. may have had a big weekend in China, but it was rival company Disney that won the box office. Coco, the latest adventure from Disney/Pixar, earned $69.6M overseas, bringing its international total to $172.3M. When you include the domestic numbers, Coco increases its global haul to $281M since being released on Thanksgiving.
Both films will enjoy another solid week of box office earnings before Star Wars: The Last Jedi debuts on December 15.
