Teen Titans Live-Action Casting Breakdown Teases Nightwing, Beast Boy, And More

This fall, DC Entertainment will finally begin work on its long-awaited Teen Titans series. The live-action adaptation will take some of the company's most famous superheroes and bring them to life on the small screen. At this point, no casting announcements have been made for Titans, but it looks like scouts are already out for the project. Now, a slew of character descriptions for Titans have been shared, and they confirm the presence of several fan-favorite characters.

Thanks to That Hashtag Show, a character breakdown for Titans have been revealed. The descriptions can be found in the slides below, and fans of the animated Teen Titans series will be able to figure out who these blurbs refer to. The first description nods to Nightwing while Raven gets a rather dour summary next. Starfire and Beast Boy are the final two descriptions given.

Looking at the summaries, it seems like Titans has a specific era from which each of its character are drawn from. Nightwing appears to be sourced from Dick Grayson 1990s Nightwing run where he worked for the Bludhaven police in an attempt to take down corruption. As for Raven, much of her description is sourced from creator Marv Wolfman's runs as she tries to run from her demonic father Trigon.

When it comes to Starfire, the ethereal character looks to be sourced straight from her first origin story. And, for Beast Boy fans, the green shape-shifting superhero will come off as a petty thief before Titans can turn him into a bonafide hero.

Titans is being produced by Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, and Akiva Goldsman - the same team that brings the DC Universe on The CW. Goldsman has written the script for Titans, and it's expected to premiere in 2018.
