The Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots will be squaring off in the big game next Sunday, and both teams have some big comic book actors who support them week in and week out.
The New England Patriots fans are famous for having super-stars backing them on social media, and they’ve got a ton of representation in the comic community.
The Falcons may not have as many, but their big named supporters come out in full force to back their birds.
Take a look at five comic actors who have big stakes in this game, and you can expect them to be all over Twitter next Sunday.
Chris Evans
It’s no secret that Chris Evans is an enormous Patriots fan, as the Northeast native continues to support his favorite team all over social media.
The Captain America star has been going back and forth with Nick Fury actor Samuel L. Jackson on Twitter, prepping for the showdown between the Pats and Jackson’s Atlanta Falcons.
A couple of years ago, Evans and fellow MCU star Chris Pratt made a bet over the Patriots and Seahawks in the Super Bowl. The loser had to visit the children’s hospital in the winner’s city, dressed as their character.
While Evans won the bet, both actors visited the kids. Maybe another bet is in the works with Jackson this year.
Samuel L. Jackson
Speaking of Samuel L. Jackson, he’s one of the biggest fans of the Atlanta Falcons. The mega-star is often seen on the sidelines and in the press boxes of the Georgia Dome, and he was on-hand to see the Falcons earn their way to the Super Bowl.
While the Patriots have a ton of stars backing them, the Falcons are much-less represented. Jackson knows his team doesn’t have the star power, so he makes up for it with his unrelenting support.
Jackson has been going toe-to-toe with fellow Marvel star Chris Evans leading up to the big game next week.
Michael Chiklis
Michael Chiklis is a Massachusetts native, and he’s grown up a loyal New England Patriots fan.
The actor made the jump to comic properties in the early 2000s, as he portrayed Ben Grimm in the original Fantastic Four films. Since then, fans will recognize him for his recurring role as Captain Barnes in Gotham.
Chiklis has been seen numerous times at Patriots games, as well as in the stands at Fenway park supporting the Red Sox.
T.I.
While Clifford Harris Jr. – aka T.I. – is more known as a rapper, the Atlanta-based musician has been making the transition into acting over the last few years.
Comic fans will recognize T.I. for his role as Dave in 2015’s sleeper-hit from Marvel, Ant-Man.
Dave was one of the crew that assisted Scott Lang as he broke into Pym to stop Yellow Jacket.
Harris has been a long-time fan of the Falcons, and he has made his passion for the city of Atlanta clear throughout his years in the music industry.
Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck – along with best friend Matt Damon – lead the superstar charge behind the New England Patriots.
The Batman actor was born and raised in Boston, and has always been a supporter of the Pats. Over the years, Affleck has become good friends with quarterback Tom Brady, and he’s at the forefront of Patriots fandom.
Along with Damon, Evans, John Krasinki, and others, Affleck assures fans that the Patriots will always have stars behind them.
