The lives of superheroes are filled with things out of their control. They have no say when it comes to alien invasions, bank robberies, or Flash messing with the timeline for the umpteenth time, which can grow increasingly frustrating.

What they do have control over however is the music they choose to listen to while all the other chaos forms around them, and you better believe they take that seriously. There are very few things more protected than one’s iTunes playlist, and these heroes will go through hell and back to keep you from messing with it.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy the 5 tracks that superheroes listen to during Christmas.

Human Torch – Heatmiser Song

Yeah, this one isn’t very outside of the box, but then again neither is Johnny Storm. Even in his new role as part of the Inhumans, he’s still prone to fits of ego, and making others sit in through numerous renditions of this Christmas classic has become a yuletide tradition.

Of course, don’t let Iceman find out. Every time the X-Men are in the blackbird they have to play the song at least once, and if he finds out Johnny’s doing it too he’s going to be pissed.

Last Christmas – Barbara Gordon

The on and off again relationship with Barbara Gordon and Dick Grayson has always been a popular one, but that’s for those who simply read about it in the pages of a comic.

The seesaw that is their relationship no doubt leaves some residue behind, and Barbara at Christmas time there is only one antidote for a hurting heart, and that’s the 80’s keyboards and guitars of Wham’s Last Christmas.

Seriously, no matter how bad a day you’re having, you can’t watch this video and not have a chuckle or two. It really is the best medicine.

Blackbolt – Silent Night

Sometimes less is more, and the Inhuman king Blackbolt has lived his life by that motto. It’s got to be difficult not speaking for most of your life, less you evaporate everyone that is standing in front of you, but lo and behold that is the burden he must carry.

Thus it makes sense that he would like on of the more melancholy Christmas songs, and Silent Night is his song of choice.

Sure, it’s a bit on the nose, but did you really see Blackbolt loving something like Jingle Bells or Santa’s Coming To Town?

Baby It’s Cold Outside – Black Canary And Green Arrow

The two love birds Green Arrow and Black Canary are always better when they’re working together, and that goes double fold for Christmas. If they happen to be on speaking terms during the oh great season of yuletide, there is nothing they prefer more than to drink some beers, find some mistletoe, and spring into song.

The song of choice? Well, that’s easy, it’s the classic Baby It’s Cold Outside. To be honest, they typically don’t make it through the whole song before falling asleep, but hey, it’s not like they’re being graded, so whatever makes them happy.

Preferred version: Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Jordan.

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas – Wonder Woman

There are very few days off for superheroes, and while the rest of the world enjoys the comfort of their fireplaces and Christmas trees, someone has to protect the populace from ancient evils and demigods.

When that happens Wonder Woman will always drop what she’s doing to protect the innocent, but that doesn’t mean she leaves her Christma spirit behind. In fact, a little Mannheim Steamroller Christmas is just what the doctor ordered when you’re trying to take a down an evil goddess, so Diana just plugs in her iPod (also bullet resistant mind you), puts the album on repeat and gets to work.

It might not be your idea of a perfect Christmas, but it certainly works for her.
