The last episode of Arrow took Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett) on the search for Slade’s son, overseas. The episode ended with two big reveals: That the son of Deathstroke has become the militant leader of the “Jackals” organization, and that Diggle’s new confidence as Green Arrow is the result of some kind of drug he’s injecting himself with.

“Promises Kept” will now explore more of what Diggle’s drug use is, and what it could mean for him and the rest of Team Arrow; however it’s the main storyline about Slade Wilson that will make this a truly unique episode in the Arrow mythos. Check out photos from the episode, below!

As EP Wendy Mericle explains, “Promises Kept” will flip the format of Arrow’s trademark flashbacks, this time featuring Slade Wilson as the subject of the flashbacks. In what may be the episode’s biggest hook, the Deathstroke flashbacks will finally fill in the gap of time between when Oliver left Slade for dead on Lian Yu, and when Slade finally arrived in Star City to get revenge on Oliver in Arrow season 2. That bit of history could open the door in a big way for Deathstroke to have more of a permanent presence on Arrow, and also set up a solid future storyline (fingers crossed).

Arrow airs Thursdays @ 9/8c on The CW.
