Gotham has always been known to be a Batman origin of sorts, following Bruce Wayne as a young boy. Well, in the last scene of the third season finale, the hero has finally arrived.

After snapping out of his brainwashing by the Shaman, Bruce reconcile’s with Alfred. The butler goes on a speech telling Bruce to find his “True North” so he can never lose himself again.

Watching the aftermath of the Tetch virus onfold on the news, Bruce must have realized that his purpose is to save the city, being the hero that it needs. This takes the teachings from Alfred, Shaman, and R’as al Ghul.

As the episode is about to end, a family is walking down an empty alley. A mugger stops them, and pulls out a gun – just as one did to Bruce’s family. This time though, there is someone around to help. A figure comes in, beats up the criminal, and vanishes.

When the camera pans to a nearby roof, the figure stands on the edge. Wearing all-black clothes, a mask, and a cloak, the figure reveals himself to be Bruce. He stands on the edge of that building, looking over Gotham City, and taking over the iconic imagery of the Batman comics.

While he doesn’t have the cowl or the name yet, it’s clear that Bruce has become the hero we’ve all been waiting for him to be.

Head to the gallery below for multiple photos from Bruce’s new outfit, and stance on the roof.
