The game has been constantly leaked from a variety of sources, but now that the cat is out of the bag everyone can just relax and fondly remember just how great Rocksteady’s Arkham Asylum (2009) and Arkham City (2011) games were and continue to be. The game’s visuals have received a nice new coat of paint, along with upgraded models, environments, and lighting effects, but the original looked fantastic as well, so maybe that is why the leap doesn’t seem as pronounced as I thought it would be.

While Rocksteady seems to be done, at least for now, with the Batman franchise, returning fans can experience both games all over again without having to dig out their old console. Fans of Batman: Arkham Knight who didn’t get to experience the originals now have no excuse not to play them, and for those who didn’t relish the Batmobile portions of Arkham Knight (i.e. lots of people), you don’t have to worry because none of that is found in either of the previous games. Personally, I’m looking forward to that fantastic battle between Batman and Mr. Freeze, which Arkham City just so perfectly depicted.

The new collection will include both games and all of the accompanying DLC, including Arkham City’s playable Catwoman sections. Batman Return To Arkham will hit retail later this summer for both PS4 and Xbox One. Let us know what your favorite Arkham moments are in the comments!
