Wonder Woman is now in theaters and earning enough strong buzz to possibly reverse a lot of fans’ negative impression of the DC Extended Universe. As Wonder Woman continues to make a milestone mark for both the DCEU and the general comic book movie genre, it’s once again time to examine what the DCEU has delivered so far.

Granted, DC Comics and Warner Bros. haven’t put out nearly the amount of films that now exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; however, the DCEU films that have been released (before Wonder Woman) have each sparked so much divisive fan opinion that it’s often hard to tell where and how they each rank.

With Wonder Woman now out, we’ve gone back to our own Comicbook.com user ratings to help with Ranking Every DCEU Movie released so far, from lowest to highest.

Suicide Squad

At 3.86/5, Suicide Squad,ย suprisingly enough, has a higher user rating than Man of Steel; however, it’s overall composite score is much lower (57.05/100), ultimately landing it way lower on the list of comic book movies (#75 compared to MoS at #50).

Suicide Squadย was one of the most critically and fan reveiled releases that the DCEU put out – with or without its Oscar win. The fact that itย scores 57.05 out of 100 in our composite rankings is a sign ofย good faith on the part of DC Comics fans who liked the characters and humor; or maybe it’s just the end result of DCEU fans wanting to cheerlead against the hate for the film. Hard to be sure in this case.ย

In any event,ย Suicide Squadย is probably destined to sit forever at the bottom of the DCEU ranking lineup – that is, unless Warner Bros. puts out something even worse and messier than that movie. Scary thought.ย

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

According to our user rankings,ย Batman v Supermanย comes in slightly higher thanย Man of Steel, with a 4.12/5 user ranking; however, the film’s overall composite score is slightly lower at 67.88 out of 100, putting it at #50 (one spot lower) on the rankings list of comic book movies.ย

If anything, the fact thatย Batman v Supermanย sits this close toย Man of Steelย is surprising in that there was much more critical and fan backlash afterย Batman v Supermanย than there was afterย Man of Steel‘s release – but the film certianly has its fair share of passionate supporters (like myself).ย

The release of theย Batman ย v Supermanย extended edition may have helped earn the film a bigger following, as Snyder’s uncut vision of the story was much more cohesive and relevant.ย

Man of Steel

Man of Steel2013

ComicBook Composite 68.12 #49All-Time Comic Movies
3.58/5 from 2,190 users #40 All-Time Rated

As you can above,ย Man of Steelย carries a somewhat low 3.85 out of 5 user ranking and an overall 68.12 out of 100 composite ranking.

Basically, that number indicates what many already know:ย Man of Steelย is a divisive film that splits fans into passionate love/hate circles of opinion.ย

Basically, those who hate it still maintain that Zack Snyder’s version of the story is ‘not their Superman’ – while others were impressed with the modernized and more complicated take on Superman’s mythology and origin.ย

That vast divide in opinion is never likely to change, so we expect thatย Man of Steelย will forever be stranded in the middle of the DCEU lineup.ย

Wonder Woman

Towering high above the rest of the DCEU is Wonder Woman. Even as the film is just entering theaters (at the time of writing this), it already has an impressive 4.57/5 user ranking – and unprecedented 91.43 out of 100 overall Composite Ranking!ย

It’s not surprising;ย Wonder Womanย is easily the best reviewed film in the DCEU lineup, and it seems to be getting the best response from DC Comics fans, and general audiences, alike.ย

Some may argue that it’s still too early to call, but all signs indicate thatย Wonder Woman will be a new milestone for for DC Films, and a possible game-changer for the superhero movie genre.ย

In other words: it’s only likely to rise higher from here!ย
