While Ben Affleck might be committed to playing the Batman in the character’s own solo film and beyond, rumor is starting to spread like wildfire that the actor wants out.
But maybe he’d get a little more invested in the role if it were made to be a family affair? Maybe they could add his brother as a sidekick? It’s a long stretch, but Casey Affleck was asked about the possibility.

While speaking to the press backstage at the BAFTA awards this past weekend, the younger Affleck was questioned whether he would consider playing Robin to his brother’s Batman.
The actor’s response wasn’t all that surprising.
“I think that part has already been played,” Affleck said. “It’s been set upโฆ It’s been established in the last Batman. They mix it up a lot.”
Affleck received BAFTA’s Best Actor award for his role in Manchester By The Sea amid allegations that he sexually assaulted former collaborators on I’m Still Here, a mockumentary starring Joaquin Phoenix.
Further clarifying his stance on playing a superhero alongside his brother, Affleck stated that the role of Robin “hasn’t been offered” to him.
“No, I don’t think I want to do that.”
Now is the part where we chide reporters for not asking about NIGHTWING. Because now we don’t know if Affleck was telling the truth or being evasive off of a technicality. What a missed opportunity to fuel even more speculation.
What do you think, ComicBook Nation? Should Casey just replace his older brother under the cowl altogether?
