Despite Olive’s new friendship with the rebellious Amy, she, Maps, Kyle, Colton and Pomeline are back together at last. The only thing they’re missing…is a mystery! Maps campaigns to recruit new cases, but stumbles on a threat that might be too big for even the Detective Club.

The issue is written by Brenden Fletcher, Becky Cloonan, and Karl Kerschl, and features art by MSASSYK, Sandra Hope, and Adam Archer.

Gotham Academy was one of a number of books aimed at diversifying DC’s publishing line with last year’s DC You initiative. For the most part, those books have gone by the wayside in favor of the more commercially-successful DC Rebirth titles, although Gotham Academy has had some success, and was resurrected for a “second semester” as part of Rebirth.

Gotham Academy is also currently crossing over with BOOM! Studios’s Lumberjanes in a story that marks the first of at least two collaborations between the two publishers, who are also planning to release Green Lantern/Planet of the Apes in February.

The title follows Olive Silverlock (daughter of the supervillain Calamity) and her friends Mia “Maps” Mizoguchi, Pomeline Fritch, Colton Rivera, Kyle Mizoguchi, and Tristan Grey, who attend the prestigious Gotham Academy.

Gotham Academy: Second Semester #2 is set to hit the stands on Wednesday, October 12. You can get a copy at your local comic shop or pre-order a digital copy on ComiXology.
