The Internet Reacts To SNL’s Wonder Woman Kiss Sketch

Saturday Night Live brought the fire last night, including a Wonder Woman sketch that set the internet ablaze.

Gal Gadot, Kate McKinnon, and Aidy Bryant made sure fans won’t forget her debut hosting gig with a hilarious Wonder Woman sketch, and the internet responded with a myriad of reactions.

The skit stars Gadot in her Amazon warrior gear as McKinnon and Bryant drift onto the shore of Themyscira. Other cast members adorn the island in Amazon gear as well, and the sight of all of them is a glorious sight for McKinnon and Bryant.

They reveal they are lesbians and assume that the rest of the women on the island are lesbians as well. Unfortunately for them, Gadot and the other Amazons have no idea what they’re talking about or what that word even means.

It results in some fun back and forth between the groups, ultimately leading to Gadot telling McKinnon she will kiss her and see if it, well, sparks anything. The resulting kiss garnered plenty of reactions from the internet at large, and while most were positive, there were some that were not so delighted with the sketch as a whole.

Of course, that wasn’t the only sketch of the night from Gal Gadot‘s episode, but it understandably is dominating the conversation. You knew a Wonder Woman sketch would be featured during the show, but don’t think anyone quite expected this.

Not everyone loved the sketch, and some felt that the “punch line” was far too simplistic for its own good.

So the punchline of that SNL Wonder Woman sketch is that they kiss? I must have Rip Van Winkled backwards and it’s now 1989.

Watched It Twice

Odds are that episode will be one of the best rated of the season, so no one can blame you for watching it a second time, or for the fact that you love Sam Smith.

McKinnon frequently plays Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the show (delightfully we might add), so this moment was even better for fans of the show.

McKinnon was already winning at life before this episode, but this is certainly not a bad way to end a week.
