Of course, the character did not come back from the dead all in one piece. No, Jerome gained a few notable scars thanks to the process, and they looked gruesome to say at the least. So, naturally, one of Gotham’s stars wants to share a behind-the-scenes photo of actor Cameron Monaghan getting dolled up for his role.

“Approach with extreme caution,” Sean Pertwee captioned a photo on Twitter. “Geniuses at work.” The actor, who plays Alfred, shared a photo of Monaghan lying down while make-up artists applied special FX prosthetics. The add-ons were blended into to make it look like Jerome had been gifted a brand-new face, and the grisly site is enough to make a more than a few stomachs turn.
