Last week, Ed Nygma thought he figured out who killed his new girlfriend: Butch. That means the revenge game is on, even if he's completely wrong. Barnes was captured, but has lost his mind completely to the Alice Blood Virus, Jim is back with the GCPD, and Selina and Bruce seem to be giving it a shot. Let's get started.

It's two days to Lee and Mario's wedding, and they have dinner with his dad, Carmine Falcone. Over/under on them actually getting married? Huh, at the dinner, someone calls Carmine "Don Falcone" - has he jumped back into business? It sure seems like it. Sure enough, a valet goes to get his car and it gets blown up real good. But was Carmine the target, or was it Mario and/or Lee?

The GCPD shows up and Jim Gordon has a chat with Carmine. "Maybe someone thinks you're coming out of retirement?" Jim says, echoing what we just did a few moments ago, and Carmine insists he's not. Longing look between Jim and Lee - check.

Penguin is having a chat with his lieutenants, and Barbara walks in, pulling a gun on them, asking where Butch and Tabitha are. Penguin warns Babs that their history means this is her freebie.

Penguin calls Nygma to check up on him, but he gets Penguin off the phone quickly - and yes, he has Tabs and Butch. They don't realize why he's taken them - Butch thinks Penguin ordered it - and Ed's too thick with rage to realize that he really doesn't know anything about Isabella's death. The torture begins.

Bullock is acting captain at the GCPD. Lucius Fox has discovered that the bomb is military-grade, and Bullock has a suspect right away. Harvey and Jim head to the suspect's place, and the door's been pried open - the bomb maker is 'dead but still warm." Some forms show them: Carmine's not the target, Mario is. Boom, called it.

Jim shows up just as two people on a motorcycle are trying to cut Mario's head off with a machete. That's... odd, even for Gotham. He saves mario and pulls him away.

Wayne Manor is the site of the weird group with Bruce, Selina, and Ivy all staying there now. Bruce is pissed Selina won't call him her boyfriend, and is determined to find out what the key they found that people are willing to kill for is.

Ivy is hanging out in the conservatory, and uses her weird plant chemical mixture as a truth serum on Alfred to find out how to turn off the alarm. Yeah, they really shouldn't be trusting her at all.

Jim and Mario have a chat about what's next. Jim feels like "something doesn't fit" with Mario's story and why he'd be the target.

Barbara heads back to Pengy's place to talk to the maid and see if she's heard anything. She discovers that Penguin's got it bad for Nygma, and that Nygma ordered some bondage gear to the house.

Nygma continues to shock Butch a lot, who in turn continues to say he doesn't know anything (because, of course, he doesn't). He moves his attention to Tabby.

Selina uses vinegar and baking soda to remove the tarnish from the key, and it reveals that an owl is engraved into it. That... concerns Bruce. Ivy has escaped, of course, and in turn was captured by the Court of Owls (or whomever is trying to get the key for them). Bruce insists he speak with the Court personally, and Selina and Alfred go with him to an underground facility to find Ivy, chained up.

Some thugs walk out, and Bruce asks to speak with Katherine. The random Russian guy might not be working for the Court, it seems. He's very shifty about the whole deal. Yup, he's against the Court of Owls! "We work to destroy them," he reveals. He also officially names them as the Court of Owls, the first time it's been uttered on the show.

Jim and Carmine have a chat about Mario, and whether he could be "mixed up in something." Mario has just left the GCPD, Jim learns in a phone call.

Babs heads to the Bondage place, and starts asking the dude, Todd, questionss. She locks him in some stocks and starts whipping him. He... likes it. She opens up the safe there, and finds out what exactly Nygma ordered.

Nygma continues his torture-thon. He has a hand-chopping guillotine - Tabitha can either have her hand cut off, or hit a button that will fatally shock Butch. "Will we hear the zap of heartbreak or the sound of one hand clapping?" Ed says. Yowza.

The guys going against the Court of Owls are the "Whisper Gang," smugglers who grew in power until the Court betrayed them. The key opens a safe in a Court building that has "a device that we believe could destroy them." Bruce wants to team up with the Whisper Gang, as he sees it as his way out of his deal with the Court.

Jim goes to see Mario, who he's pretty sure is using himself as bait. Yup, he is, and the assassins arrive, throwing knives and stabbing people with swords and stuff. Mario starts choking one of the dudes, asking why they're coming after him, and he just says "you know why."

Butch tries desperately to beg Ed, and tell him that he doesn't know who the hell Isabella is. Ed says that if Tabitha loves Butch enough to let her hand get chopped off, he swears they can both leave with their lives. "The last few weeks have been the best of my life. It's okay you don't love me, because I love you. That's enough for a guy like me." He then tells Ed he put a "bullet in her brain" - keying him into the fact that Butch really didn't kill Isabella. Tabitha let the guillotine chop off her hand saying "Butch, you're sweet." Ed finally realizes he had it all wrong, and Babs shows up. "I'd put that hand on some ice" he says, and walks out.

The cops still can't quite figure out why Mario's been targeted, but they do have one of the assassins (you know, the one he didn't choke out). Carmine goes in to ask the assassin who sent him and starts to try to beat it out of him.

Harvey tells Jim that he should tell Lee how he feels. Jim suddenly sees Falcone on the monitor pulling a tooth out. The tooth has a marking on it - is that an owl I saw? Sure looked like it. Carmine says it was a "former associate of mine" and tells Jim to let it go. Yup, sounds like the Court to me.

The Whisper Gang is ready to work with Bruce, but a Talon of the Court of Owls shows up and kills one of them with ease. "We know you've been searching for the second key. Have you found it?" They fight, and Russian dude holds his own... for a second. Then the Talon stabs him in the face.

Butch is ready for revenge, as he's bringing Tabitha and her hand (on ice, as recommended) along with Babs to a hospital. Barbara figures out that it's Penguin who killed the librarian. "I am tired of sititng at the kid's table. If I'm right, we can have way more than vengeance, we can have it all. We don't need to go to war, all we need to do is start one."

Carmine goes to Katherine to ask about why they're coming after Mario. "There are things you're not privy to," she tells him. He threatens the Court. "If my son is harmed in any way, I'll come after you with everything I have. Gotham will burn." The Court of Owls says only they can save the city from the brink of chaos.

Lee visits Jim, and asks him to tell her "what he has to tell her." He tells her he wants her happy, more than anything. She says maybe they need to say goodbye "properly," and kisses him. "Bye, James Gordon," she says, and walks out, leaving him standing there confused.

She gets in a cab, and Mario sees her getting into it, coming out of Jim's apartment. He's pissed - and he's hearing "She loves him" over and over in his head. He starts getting super strong and angry - oh crap, he's infected by Alice blood! And that's a wrap!
