The shot of Selina lying on the ground, with a cat walking beside her, was very reminiscent of the Catwoman origin given to Michelle Pfeiffer’s iteration in Batman Returns. This shot was also seen in the season’s teaser, hinting that Selina would finally start to become the villain.
However, as the episode returned to Selina later, the scene of her fall started to look even more like the older iteration.
