During a set visit last summer, the world of Suicide Squad was opened up to us in an expansive way. We toured multiple sets, like Belle Reve Prison, the streets of Midway City, and the John Ostrander Federal Building. We saw nearly every character in full costume, got up-close and personal with Deadshot's real, working wrist-mounted magnums, Harley's sweet bat, and Boomerang's remote-control drone 'rangs. We met Killer Croc - because when he's in the four-hours worth of makeup and prosthetics, you can bet he looks like the real deal (and is terrifying). We saw concept art that showed major super-powered battles, alternate takes on characters, and revealed the goo and eye-covered Eyes of the Adversary.
As far as the story of the film goes, we got some new details there: After a "non-human entity" emerges and cops and the military aren't even close to being able to take it down, the U.S. government sends in Enchantress, a witch. She's able to get close to it - but unfortunately, it sways her in some way to work for it instead of against. Now it's up to the Suicide Squad, Amanda Waller's last hope, to take this thing - and Enchantress along with it if need be - down, and save the world. They'll cut, shoot, and burn their way through its hordes of foot soldiers, and have to deal with The Joker, who wants to get his Harley back now that she's out of prison, along the way.
Here you'll be able to find every individual story about Suicide Squad from our extensive set visit, and as we post more throughout the day, diving deep into the story, the costumes, the individual performances, the sets and scenes, and more, we'll add those links here. Well, get to reading, and make sure you come back throughout the day for much more.
