iZombie Recap With Spoilers: Looking for Mr. Goodbrain, Part 1

The episode begins with Liv and Clive trying to console zombie Harley Johns. Major arrives with a vial and administers it to Harley. The three then lock Harley in a freezer.

Liv arrives back at the morgue. Ravi shows her the newspaper article with her face on it. Katty arrives, wanting to talk to Ravi about the article. Liv hides under the desk while Katty suggests that Ravi was a source in the article. Katty leaves, and Liv criticizes Ravi for being a source.

Major meets with Chase Graves, who offers him a tube of brains. Major reluctantly pretends to eat it. Chase confronts Major about Shawna’s blog, and reveals that he knows that Major is a human. Chase fires him from Filmore Graves, depsite Major asking to stay.

Major packs up his things and leaves Filmore Graves. Justin and the other zombies applaud him about him being such a human badass.

Peyton and Liv discuss whether or not Baracus is guilty in Roxanne’s murder. Liv then says that she doesn’t feel comfortable being an identifiable zombie.

Rachel comes to apologize to Ravi about the article. She argues that getting the truth out was more important than his feelings. Liv arrives, with her hair and makeup done to look human. Ravi and Liv leave to head to a crime scene.

Clive questions a couple dumpster divers at the crime scene. Liv and Ravi arrive. Clive shows them the body – Katty’s body.

Liv and Ravi discuss Katty and her autopsy. Liv eats Katty’s brains.

Clive arrives with another investigator for the CDC. She reveals that Katty was interviewing passengers from the zombie outbreak plane incident. Clive, Ravi, and Liv debate what the evidence from Katty’s hotel room mean, and then decide to interview the remaining passengers.

The three of them interview one of the passengers. Liv then gets a series of visions of Katty having sex with Ravi and is distracted by them. The passenger then explains that her seat neighbor on the plane made her suspicious because he looked like a terrorist.

Clive, Liv, and Ravi then interview the neighbor, who is completely not suspicious.

Baracus confronts Peyton about the newspaper article, and suggests that she needs to become his Chief of Staff for when the public finds out about zombies. She appreciates the offer, but is hesitant to accept it.

Major gets a text from Natalie. They agree to meet up. When Major goes to meet her, he finds her wearing one of Shawna’s Chaos Killer shirts.

Major and Natalie discuss what they’ve been up to since last seeing each other. Natalie reveals that she’s moving to Italy, and Major offers to help her do so.

Liv sits at the bar Katty frequented, hoping to get a clue about her murder. A businessman offers to sit with her. They hit it off, and he invites her into Liv’s hotel room. She accepts, but quickly runs away before knocking on the door.

A crowbar pries open the freezer Harley is in.

Ravi and Liv awkardly avoid each other in the morgue. Peyton walks in and tells them about the offer from Baracus. Liv suggests that she accept it, to keep an eye on Baracus.

Liv goes back to Katty’s bar, where she is offered drinks by a guy. They hit it off, but then Liv leaves again.

Liv invites Justin over to her apartment and hugs him. She asks if they can be exclusive, and Justin says yes.

Major and Natalie return from moving her out of her apartment. They have sex. Natalie asks Major to move to Italy with him, and he accepts.

Two of the zombie truthers sit in Harley’s bunker, plotting what to do next. Harley attacks them.

Clive and Liv arrive at Katty’s bar. Bartenders quickly recognize Liv, but she brushes them off. The main bartender reveals that Katty went home with a different man every night, leaving Clive to think that that had something to do with her murder.

Clive interviews another passenger, who reveals that he actually switched seats with another passenger on the flight.

Liv sits at the bar again. She is approached…by Chase Graves. They sit and gossip about the other bar patrons. They begin coming up with a theoretical sex fantasy between them.

Cavanagh approaches Clive, and gives him a fax about the mystery passenger. He then asks about Harley Johns’ disappearance.

Liv and Chase begin hooking up.

Clive meets with the mystery passenger – Tatum’s friend, Patrice. He asks her about her being on the flight and switching seats into first class. Patrice’s mother then arrives – Carey Gold, Baracus’ assistant.

The Filmore Graves guys salute Major at his going away party. Justin pulls Major outside of the house and says that he’s worried about Liv.

Liv and Chase make small talk. Liv then finds a bar napkin on Chase’s nightstand – of Katty’s name and room number.

Harley crashes the Filmore Graves party with a vest full of explosives, killing everyone inside the house.
