Today Manganiello joined the DC Films tradition of social media teases by posting a twitter image of the Deathstroke’s iconic mask, with some notable battle damage around the eye:

There’s no caption, so it’s hard to read into this too much – but it’s definitely a fun little tease of the kind of Deathstroke movie that Manganiello and The Raid: Redemption director Gareth Evans intend to make.
Evans recently posted his own Deathstroke teaser on Instagram: A copy of the DC Comics TPB, Deathstroke: Gods of War. That storyline from 2015 saw Slade Wilson up against a mysterious enemy named Odysseus, who has knowledge of a secret mission from Slade’s past, which was wiped from his memory. When Odysseus starts wiping out everyone involved with the mission, Deathstroke must piece together his memory again – a quest that takes him to Gotham City and into conflict with both Batman and Harley Quinn.
In short: it’s the sort of story that could definitely leave Manganiello’s Slade Wilson / Deathstroke looking worse for wear.
The Deathstroke movie is currently in development.
