Prince, the pop music icon behind 1989’s Batman soundtrack, has died at age 57, TMZ reports. His body was discovered earlier today at his home in Minnesota.

UPDATE: Representatives for Prince have confirmed his passing in a statement to the Associated Press.
A little after noon ET, reports started to circulate about a body being discovered at Prince’s estate. The singer was reportedly hospitalized with flu-like symptoms over the weekend but had apparently been discharged.
Prince also recently cancelled a pair of concerts citing health concerns, and then appeared onstage recently to reassure fans that he was okay.
In a more than thirty-year career, Prince — real name Prince Rogers Nelson — has earned 7 Grammys, sold more than 100 million records, and headlined a pair of his own movies. He won an Academy Award for Best Original score for 1985’s Purple Rain.
